Hugh Campbell Smith
1930 - 2019
On March 20, 2019 Hugh was reunited with Joyce, his recently deceased wife of 57 years.
Hugh was born in Foam Lake, SK, the youngest child of Hugh and Margaret Smith. Hugh and Joyce were married in October 1961. Hugh worked as a radio operator for the RCMP for 11 years and Curator of Mammalogy at the Provincial Museum of Alberta for 30 years.
Hugh had a passion for travelling, walking, reading, baseball and animals. Hugh also cherished weekly coffee time with ‘the guys’.
Hugh is predeceased by his parents and siblings and his loving wife Joyce. Hugh is survived by his children: Ian (Mona), Norma (Reid); grandchildren: Curtis, Caitlin and Bryn; great-granddaughter, Evelyn and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Albert United Church, 20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert, AB.
Memorial Donations in memory of Hugh can be made to the Friends of the Royal Alberta Museum.
