Julia was born to Julianna Dobbelaire and Renee Hosseel on June 4, 1925 in Moerkeke, Belgium and grew up along the Belgium coast. She met August (Gus) in 1951 and they married in 1952. Julia and Gus immigrated to Canada in 1953 where they enjoyed the next 62 years together. They resided in Unity, Sask when they first arrived in Canada before moving to Grand Centre, Alberta, where they opened their own bakery in 1959. In 1980 they retired to Crane Lake, Alberta where they spent the next 23 years before moving to St. Albert, Alberta where they spent the rest of their days. Julia was kind hearted and the sweetest woman, she loved being around family and friends. Everyone she met, she made feel special as though they were family.
