It is with great sadness the family of Barbara Langridge announce her passing on October 24, 2020, at the age of 94.
Born in Guildford, England, in 1926, raised in Calgary, and finally settling in St. Albert, Mom passed away following a short battle with cancer. She now joins our dad Bruce, who predeceased her in 2007. Active in her communities, she worked for women’s causes, donated to many charities and volunteered in schools and the Sturgeon Hospital until she became ill.
She leaves to mourn: her sons, Ian (Monique), Douglas (Laurie) and Robert. “Grannie” also leaves her grandchildren, Caitlin (Nathan) McLeod, of Surrey B.C., Samantha Langridge and Carson Langridge of Edmonton, and her great-grandsons Ian and Jameson McLeod. She will also be remembered and missed by numerous good friends.
The family wishes to thank Units 19 and 15 staff at the Sturgeon Hospital, Unit 6E at the Misericordia Hospital, and finally Unit 9Y at the Edmonton General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation in St. Albert, Hope Mission in Edmonton, The Salvation Army or any local charity of choice.
Cremation has taken place, and due to COVID restrictions, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
