If Flowers Grow in Heaven
If flowers grow in heaven,
Lord, then pick a bunch for me.
Then place them in my mother’s arms,
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her that I love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek,
And hold her for awhile.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Lenderyou on August 17th, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her daughters, Gloria (Ken) and Carol (Terry); grandsons, Jason (Adriana), Bryan (Alix) and Chad (Jen); and great grandchildren, Tahlia, Wyatt, Warner and Wynn. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William, in 2006.
Margaret was born in Edmonton and grew up on a farm in the Horse Hill area, just outside of Edmonton. There she met and married her husband, Willie, and the two of them raised their daughters and farmed for 40 years. In 1990, they retired to St. Albert and enjoyed many fun road trips across Western Canada in their camper van, as well as a number of vacations abroad. Margaret spent her final years in St. Albert surrounded by wonderful neighbors and good friends.
Margaret was a real sweetheart who was kind and caring to everyone she knew. Her bright smile, warmth and laughter graced many gatherings over the years. She was a great cook and loved having people over for a delicious meal or just a cup of tea. She welcomed long conversations on the phone and her door was always open to her treasured family and friends. For all who knew her, we will cherish our memories and good times. She was a remarkable woman and a radiant light who will be in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at the Youville Home in St. Albert for the wonderful care they provided to Margaret for nearly two years.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held.
