1939-2021

Joan Lowrie of St. Albert passed away peacefully at home with her family present after a very sudden diagnosis with cancer related difficulties.

She was born Joan Christine Roberts in Drumheller on November 9, 1939. She lived and was educated in the area with her loving family until she moved to Calgary for employment in the office with a major bank. It was during this time she met her husband, Bill Lowrie of 56 years and relocated to Edmonton. They were married in 1964 eventually purchasing a home in 1967 in St. Albert where they continue to live and have raised their family of William and Colleen Lowrie for the past 54 years.

She leaves behind family members; husband, Bill; son, William; daughter, Colleen (Brendan Fingler); grandsons, William and Christopher Lowrie. Also surviving are sisters, Lyn (Don) Siebold of Winfield, BC and Karen (Bob) Sipos of Lamont, AB.

Joan was highly active in Order of Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile Chapters for many years. Recently she became a Red Hat Lady as well. If you were fortunate enough to be her friend, you were both doubly blessed. Her passing leaves all who know her at a loss for her kindness to everyone.

A Private Family Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Foster & McGarvey, St. Albert Funeral Home with an interment to follow at St. Albert Cemetery.
