1946-2021
With incredible pain and sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Nora at the Sturgeon Community Hospital on June 15, 2021. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and other staff who gave her excellent care right to the end.
Nora is survived by her husband, Maurice; daughter, Amanda Friesenhan (Joe); son, Barry Mabillard (Julie); grandchildren, Lillian and Joseph Friesenhan; brother-in-law, Bob Mabillard; step-mother, Lola Greenwood of Calgary; niece, Roxanna Johnson (Tom); nephew, Neil Mabillard, and many others.
Nora stayed at home while raising her family and home-schooled her children. Later in life, at the age of 52, she was accepted for a teaching position (Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology) at Outreach High School in St. Albert where she went on to teach for close to 20 years. She had an amazing gift to be able to help struggling students to understand the hard course concepts and to give them the confidence needed to get their diplomas. She also loved the staff and administration she worked with.
Our ray of sunshine and love of our life has now gone, but there will forever be a Nora sized hole remaining in our hearts.
