Sept. 16, 1965 – Sept. 27, 2021

Shawnie, we mourn your passing. There are so many ways you touched people’s lives. Love of good books, mushrooms, gourmet food and Saturday Night Live shows made him who he was. His interest in books, nature and the outdoors led him in a life path that took him to the far North. He was able to cook and feed fly-in tourists on the banks of Great Bear Lake as well as learn and enjoy life with an Inuit family.

We will miss you biking on the sunny days in St. Albert. You are not forgotten but loved by many.

“Lord, make me an instrument

of your peace.

Where there is hatred,

let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.”
