1960-2019
On Sunday April 21, 2019, Patrick John Fitzgerald, in his 59th year found peace following a struggle with illness.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Alberta of 29 years; son, Matthew (Jennifer Howe); daughter, Katie (Scott LaBuick); loved by his dear mother, Barbara Nikel; sisters: Catherine, Barbara (Dr. Malcolm Moore), Beverley; brother, Michael (Tracie Oliver).
He is predeceased by father, Marty Fitzgerald and step-father, John Nickel.
He will be fondly remembered by his extended family, nieces, nephews and many friends in business and at the Glendale Golf and Country Club.
Patrick was born and raised in Ontario cottage country. He pursued a business degree at the Lakehead University, Ontario. He found the computer industry in it’s early years to be his passion and quickly established himself as one of the top performers in the industry. He moved to Alberta in the late 1980’s and settled in St. Albert, a place he loved and called home. Patrick loved helping with his children’s many athletic activities. He coached, cheered and mentored for many years. It gave him great pride to watch them grow.
A Celebration of Patrick’s Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
Memorial Donations in Patrick’s memory may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue Society, (“SCARS”) by www.scarscare.ca website, or the charity of your choice.
