Sadly, and unexpectedly, Patrick Timms passed away at Kelowna General Hospital from complications during surgery. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mae; daughters Kerry (Michael) and Laura; beloved granddaughters Alexandra and Lily Mae, of whom he was so proud; sister Noreen, brother Allan (Irma) brother-in-law Lorne Achtymichuk, and their families. Predeceased by his father Henry C. Timms, mother Marjorie (Fraser) Timms, sister Letitia Timms, in-laws George and Alexandra Achtymichuk.

Patrick’s interesting life journey began as a triplet sibling to Allan and Letitia - the first Caucasian set of triplets ever recorded in Shanghai, China. In 1940, the family departed by ship, destined for Canada, and spent the WWII years in Vancouver and Salt Spring Island. They returned to Hong Kong for another three years, where Patrick’s father served as an officer in the British Hong Kong police. They returned to Richmond, B.C., where they settled into acreage life on Sea Island.

Patrick graduated from Richmond High School in 1957. He was a star athlete, excelling in track and field, basketball and boxing. During the summer months Patrick worked at Steveston Fish Cannery (now a museum) and then on fishing boats along the B.C. coast.

After high school, he enlisted with the RCMP and trained in Regina. While on his first “K” Division posting in Edmonton, he met his future wife Mae, a newly graduated RN. They married in 1962. Pat served and protected seven communities in Alberta during his 20-year career as a police officer, achieving rank of Corporal.

Following retirement from the RCMP, Pat went on to a successful 30-year career as a real-estate agent in St. Albert and area, where he and Mae lived for 43 years. Seeking a warmer climate, they moved to B.C. to enjoy their retirement.

Many lasting friendships were forged on Pat’s journeys. Always an early riser, he joined his morning coffee buddies, excited at the prospect of a new day. His love and devotion to his family, his optimism, kindness and compassion towards others will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, previously scheduled for May, has been postponed due to pandemic restrictions. Rescheduled date will be announced.
