1971 – 2021

On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, Kevin Lee Skogstad of St. Albert passed away unexpectedly at home, at 50 years of age.

Kevin loved life and lived every day to the fullest. He was always ready to try a new adventure and wanted his children to experience everything he could expose them to. He had a big heart, was a good listener and knew how to have a good time. He was passionate about friendships; if you were his friend, he would do anything for you. Kevin was a committed referee with the North Zone, having enjoyed 28 years officiating and mentoring young referees. As a testament to his character and zest to learn, Kevin won the Chief Scouting Award in 1986. Above all, Kevin was a devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife Michelle and their children: Paige (19), Adam (17) and Elliot (15); his parents Sandy and Ian Skogstad; sister Karyn, her husband Cameron and their 2 sons Bryce and Colm. He will be dearly missed by Michelle’s family, Marilyn and David Flockhart, Meredith Phelan and her husband Mark, Tyler Flockhart and his wife Logan, and his special friend Stuart Flockhart. He was a treasured “fun uncle” to Chloe, Haley, Emerson and Tate.  He will also be missed by our extended family “The Noses”, his officiating family, theatre, music and swim families, and his business family. We thank you for all your love & support.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive.
