1971 - 2019
It is with great sorrow that the family of Tracy Louise Shaw of St. Albert announce her passing at the Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert, on Oct. 31, 2019. Tracy is survived by her loving children; son, Cameron and daughter, Abby of Edmonton, husband; Mike Shaw of Edmonton, mother; Carolyn Boychuk of St. Albert, brother and sister-in law; Darren and Sherry Vanstone of Mexico, father; Larry Vanstone (Marilyn) of Ontario, Mike’s parents; Walter and Marg Shaw, his son; Andrew Lane (Tasha), brother; Barry (Geri) Shaw, sister; Maureen (Des) Stauffer, and sister; D’Anne (Jay) Ruptash and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. She was pre-deceased by her brother; Blaine Vanstone in 1990 and her stepfather; Ron Boychuk in 2014. Tracy was born in Surrey, B.C. on Feb. 3, 1971 and spent her early years in Kamloops, Salmon Arm and Calgary, until the family settled in Edmonton in 1979. She attended Clara Tyner Elementary, Carnaervon Elementary, Rosslyn Jr. High and Queen Elizabeth High School. She liked to swim and skate, loved soccer and track and played in the school band. Friends were many and always the main focus of her life. In 1993 Tracy married Mike Shaw and they happily welcomed a son, Cameron, in 2001 and a daughter Abby in 2006. Tracy enjoyed many years working in the bridal industry and camping , quadding, fishing, boating, campfires and times at the cabin. Disneyland with her family was her dream vacation. Many animals were welcomed into the family home. Friends or strangers in need, homeless animals – Tracy welcomed them all with kindness and open arms, no questions asked.
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the kind and caring staff of the Emergency Dept. at the Sturgeon for the care and kindness we were shown in our time of great stress and sorrow. Our world is so much better because of people like you.
No flowers by request. Donations to the Sturgeon Community Hospital, St. Albert in memory of Tracy will be gratefully accepted. Please also consider becoming a blood donor.
A Celebration of Tracy’s life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM.
