WILSON, David Donald Stuart

September 19, 1947 – August 31, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dave Wilson announce his peaceful passing on August 31, 2020. Dave will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Trudy; much loved children Marnie (Ken Kraus) Wilson and Dan (Leah Margiotta) Wilson, grandchildren Devon, Paige and Gracie. Dave will be fondly remembered by his siblings, John (Faye) Wilson, Glenda McCraw, Rob (Linda) Wilson and Mark Wilson. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave was born in Edmonton. As an adult he lived most of his life in St. Albert.  He actively supported Marnie and Dan in sports.  He managed/coached numerous minor hockey, soccer and basketball teams over the years. When the grandchildren entered hockey and basketball, he rarely missed one of their games. For Dave that was the most important place to be.

Dave loved sports cars. His first love was his GTO, then the Corvette and Firebirds that he loved to cruise in. He had a clear license, not one accident or traffic ticket in his lifetime.

Dave was an avid Oilers fan.  He loved hockey and rarely missed watching a game.  Once hockey season started he would say “I’m hockupied”.

Cremation will take place.  Dave’s wishes were that no formal service be held.  Respecting this and the need to social distance due to Covid the family asks you to raise a glass of wine (Pinot Grigio was his favorite) or beverage of your choice to honour his passing.  He will be placed to rest in the Northern Lights Cemetery at a later date. This choice had been made with Dave in advance, as he loved watching the northern lights while in the hot tub.

In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to The Lung Association, Second Chance Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice.
