Douglas (“Doug”) Dennis Wolansky, born in 1947 in Caslan, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2021 at the age of 73.

 

Doug is predeceased by his father, Bill; mother, Nellie; sister, Valerie; sister-in-law, Anne; as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Doug is survived by Val, his loving wife of 45 years; son, Brad; daughter, Trish; and son-in-law, Mike. He also leaves to mourn brothers, Willard and Lloyd, brothers-in-law, Rob (Pat), Craig (Pat), and Brian (Sue), and their families.

 

Doug was an instructor in the Mathematics Department at NAIT for over 35 years before his retirement at the age of 55. He was an avid golfer with 5 career holes-in-one, curler, hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He was happiest outside, surrounded by nature. Doug enjoyed camping with his family and will be dearly missed.

 

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta, and MAID, for the tremendous care he received in his final days.

 

As per Doug’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Enjoy some time in nature or raise a glass in his honour with your loved ones.
