In my earlier letter to the editor (March 24 Gazette) I described the experience of my first vaccination on Day 2 of the rollout. I predicted that, as time went on, practise would make perfect. I have had my second shot and now can prove how right I was.
The several improvements were: 1) Traffic congestion was greatly improved by the addition of an attendant with a “Stop” sign who controlled the flow. 2) There are now two temporary handicapped parking spots by the door. Best of all, 3) there is a large electronic reader board in front of the door indicating the appointment time being serviced. So you can stay in your car until the appropriate time shows. 4) I have a limp and as I went into the building, the lady giving out the questionnaire for completion and signature regarding possible COVID connection also asked me if I would like the use of a wheelchair. Kind thought, but not necessary.
Then on to 5) hand sanitization. Here was the only possible negative (?) – no new free face mask. I wore my own throughout the entire process. However, to my way of thinking, this was a positive because it was saving taxpayers' money. 6) No I.D. certification, saving time. 7) Registration had more stations speeding things along. Then straight on to the actual shot. By coincidence, mine was sixth and last out of the tiny vial. Also, once more zero after effects.
Again, my grateful thanks to all involved for a job well done.
Based on my experience, and without hesitation, I urge all Canadians, whatever their age, as soon as eligible should ... GO FOR IT!!!
