LETTER: Pickleball decision is money well spent

"Anyone of us could end up with a pickle ball court in the park behind our house, doesn’t mean our life has to change or we should have to put up with the noise either."

I find “Our View” of the pickleball noise fix ("In a pickle," Dec. 16 Gazette) one sided, to the expense. Your telling me the city spent the money to build the courts, after the fact houses/residents were already there and they have to put up with the noise? The noise is part of the cost, why should the residents living there have to suffer.

All sports and building that support sport are the cost of all residents of St.Albert, whether you do the sport or not. This day in age anything that gets anyone off the couch is money well spent. That goes for pickle baller taxes as well. It’s not about two residences that complained or have to put up with the disruptive noise all summer it’s about all the costs of a project,  including the noise so be it.

Anyone of us could end up with a pickle ball court in the park behind our house, doesn’t mean our life has to change or we should have to put up with the noise either.

Money well spent.

D. Stolk, St. Albert
