LETTER: Thanks to our public transportation workers

I noticed that on Google last Tuesday, the caption was recognizing public transportation workers. It was a reminder to me that I wanted to commend the excellent bus service that I have experienced in recent years in St. Albert.

First of all, I have been extremely impressed by the communications and co-ordination within the St. Albert service. Often I have had the bus driver check with me and other passengers to see if we needed connection buses to wait. As well, when there were traffic hold-ups on St. Albert Trail, the buses were notified to take alternative routes that ensured schedules were kept.

I would like to recognize the regular drivers of Routes A6 and 202 from January to March 2020. In particular, the regular driver of Route 202, picking up students at NAIT at 4:00 p.m. heading back to St. Albert, deserves applause. He was courteous, kind, and polite to young and old and I noticed numerous time his patience in answering inquiries.

Although I have not had to take the bus since 'isolation' began, it is a service that I know is continuing. All the management and drivers deserve a huge thank you for their continued support to keep our society 'moving'.
