It’s ridiculous that St. Albert Transit is not reinstating transit fare the same day as Edmonton Transit, June 15 – they must wait it out after Canada Day, July 1, to consider reinstating transit fare.
I know that I can use my April pass on ETS/LRT and any riders from Edmonton can get on any of the St. Albert buses for free along their Edmonton routes starting now till whenever St. Albert brings back transit fares. St. Albert is waiting to figure out how they are going to make their drivers safe during this pandemic and figure out how to accept cash fare, hand out transfers and how to handle bus passes. In Edmonton, drivers don't have to worry because their buses are equipped with protectors for bus drivers in their own little box.
