Climate assertions are false

In his commentary column on climate change, Dave Lloyd makes several assertions that are outright false.

In his commentary column on climate change, Dave Lloyd makes several assertions that are outright false.

Probably the most easily identifiable is his claim that the entire scientific community agrees that climate change is not natural! This leads me to suspect that Mr. Lloyd has restricted his reading and research to only those authors that agree with his particular viewpoint. If not, he would find ample evidence of a growing number of environmental scientists who acknowledge that global warming (and cooling) is a natural phenomenon that has been occurring over the course of Earth’s history.

I also find rather distasteful the attempt to dismiss skeptics of his assumptions as wilfully ignorant individuals who don’t know or care about the world we live in.

The insinuation that any organization that challenges so-called “anthropogenic climate change” has an ulterior profit driven motive is equally asinine. There is ample independent research available for Mr. Lloyd to examine in his search for proof (hopefully with an open mind).

Uninformed, and in some cases, intentionally misleading environmentalism (think Al Gore) has resulted in unnecessary fear for the future of our planet. I hope that everyone is skeptical enough to explore both sides of the debate.
