Tuesday’s metro Edmonton division two women’s soccer final will have a St. Albert team competing for the championship banner.

The winners of Friday’s semifinals between the Bellerose Bulldogs (4-0-2) and Paul Kane Blues (5-1) and the St. Albert Skyhawks (3-2-1) against the St. Francis Xavier Rams (6-0) will advance to the 4 p.m. match at Foote Field. Scores were unavailable at press time.

The semifinals were originally scheduled for Thursday, but were postponed due to severe air quality conditions.

In league play, Bellerose was the top pool A team, while Paul Kane and the Skyhawks placed second and third, respectively, in pool B.

The quarter-final results were 3-0 Bellerose against the St. Peter the Apostle Spartans (2-3-1), 6-0 Paul Kane against the M.E. Lazerte Voyageurs (3-2-1) and 2-1 Skyhawks against the Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds (3-2-1).

Division 1A Impact

Brittany Kindzierski’s hat-trick propelled the St. Albert Impact 4 division 1A team to victory Monday in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Shyanne Walton and Candace Alberda also scored in support of goalkeeper Anastacia Lalonde in the 5-2 decision against Rionero FC (3-2) at Riel Park.

The Impact (3-2), last year’s second-place division 1A team (10-2-2) and Tier I provincial champions, were coming off a 4-3 loss to first-place Wind (4-0) Saturday at Goldstick Park.

Kindzierski, the 2018 EDSA female player of the year, is the top division 1A scorer with five goals after finishing first last year with 23 goals.

Monday the Impact plays Olympia FC (1-4) at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

Impact 1 premier

The St. Albert Impact 1 premier women’s team ended a three-game losing streak with a four-goal outburst in Thursday’s shutout of Sherwood Park Phoenix 1.

In the last two losses, the Impact (3-3) were kept off the score sheet while giving up two goals to Angels Scottish SC 2 (4-3) and six to Northwest United 2 (6-0).

Sara De Gannes, Brittany Kindzierski, Casey Paplawski and Danica Blasius paced the offensive attack and Jamie Misiaszek was in net against Phoenix (4-1) at ESA Complex.

Last year’s second-place team in the Edmonton District Soccer Association lost two matches in league play and four overall as the provincial premier silver medallist.

The next match is Tuesday against first-place Futbol United/Powerplay FC (6-0-1) at 6:30 p.m. at Riel Park.

Impact 2 premier

The third loss in a row for the St. Albert Impact 2 premier women’s team was Tuesday’s setback in the Edmonton District Soccer Association.

Christie Wong and Marisa Roaquin scored as the Impact (1-3) fell 3-2 to Futbol United/Powerplay FC (6-0-1) at Goldstick Park.

The lone win for the Impact was 2-1 against St. Albert Impact 1 (3-3) May 14.

Sunday the Impact lines up against Victoria 2 (0-5-1) at 2 p.m. at Goldstick Park and Tuesday’s match against St. Albert Impact 3 (3-3) kicks off at 8:15 p.m. at Riel Park.

Impact 3 premier

Michelle Brodeur was stellar in net in a losing cause for the St. Albert Impact 3 premier women’s team against the perennial Edmonton District Soccer Association champions.

Tuesday’s match against Northwest United 2 (6-0) was too close to call because of Brodeur's goalkeeping until the 2018 provincial gold medallists slotted the insurance marker in the 87th minute for the 2-0 win at ESA Complex.

The Impact are in action Sunday against Sherwood Park Phoenix 1 (4-1) at 5 p.m. at Millennium Place and Tuesday’s match with St. Albert Impact 2 (1-3) starts at 8:15 p.m. at Riel Park.
