Bus route disruption a safety concern

Travel times have been doubled due to transfers that don’t line up, buses leaving the Edmonton core at peak times labelled not in service, etc.

Based on my conversation of today with STAT, there are no alternative solutions being looked at. No transfer times being tweaked or altered, no direct route solutions being considered, no additional training for drivers being provided. Basically a big “tough darts” to the ridership.

The budget is tight and this situation will continue through to 2020.

If you have teenagers going to university, give this serious consideration. Transfers have been routed through downtown Edmonton including LRT. I was told that if my teenager is travelling during daylight hours they should be safe enough.

I asked the gentleman if he had a female child. The answer was no, unsurprisingly.

This constitutes a drastic failure on the part of management to cope with this situation.

Typical.
