Concerned about mayor's comments on MUC

letter-sta

I do feel compelled to respond to our Mayor's latest comments in the St. Albert Gazette:

Mayor Heron forgets her job is to serve the best interests of the residents of St. Albert. Her statement on the front page in the Dec. 7 Gazette of her job being to listen to ‘experts’ instead of the concerns of the taxpayers of this city is very ‘Trumpian’. In fact, she seems to know better what to do with our money than the rest of us. Apparently, we didn’t understand what we were voting for when most of us voted against the library. She is talking about making us a ‘utility corporation’ but in reality we would only be a utility distributor. The city would still have to pay the power provider. The city would also have to force all the homeowners and businesses here to sign on. Right now we have a choice. What if the ‘expert’ is wrong? Should a Mayor's voice outweigh all others? This is not a small matter and these ‘experts’ may take more than just our lunch money.

A concerned citizen,
Don Noon, St. Albert
