Cooper's conduct was dishonourable

Mr. Scheer, I view the conduct and content of comments made by my MP, Michael Cooper, in a recent meeting of the Justice Committee dishonourable and not representative of my Canadian values in advancing discussion on important issues.

Mr. Scheer, I view the conduct and content of comments made by my MP, Michael Cooper, in a recent meeting of the justice committee dishonourable and not representative of my Canadian values in advancing discussion on important issues.

Further, the conduct of the Conservative members on the justice committee not to support expunging of Mr. Cooper’s remarks as it pertained to the Tuesday, May 28, justice committee discussion of free speech are unsettling. Not only did I find the comments of my MP unhelpful and extreme in challenging the views being expressed at the meeting, but the follow-up response of the Conservative Party and its members to downplay dealing with this inappropriate conduct of Michael Cooper is unacceptable.

A significant wrong was committed. Deal with it and move on. A suspension from the justice committee is not adequate. Expunging the comments made by Mr. Cooper from the meeting record is needed. Current behaviour and response of the Conservative Party and its members is inadequate.
