In your Opinion columns I was delighted to read Dave Patterson’s article, “Regarding the viability of gasifiers” (Nov. 30 Gazette):
In a world where responsible disposal of waste material is in the spotlight, it was great to hear some Alberta success stories and their impact. They are a responsible and controlled way of reducing our impact on the environment and deserve more publicity. Our school teachers would be well advised to have their students investigate the effectiveness and impact these thermal-conversion systems on our world. Seems to me more productive than “Chicken Little” fear-mongering protests.
“We’re all in this together,” to quote Red Green, and it would do well to give more credit to those who are actually working out solutions to our environmental concerns. I hope this article stirs more debate/articles on effective solutions.
