Fight big oil retail pirates!

The local retail gas pricing roller-coaster hit an all-time extreme April 12 in St. Albert.

Shell and its latest pirate partner, Exxon Mobil, posted gas prices starting at $126.9 per litre that day. Yet a short drive into northwest Edmonton finds gas priced at anywhere from $113.9 to $116.9.

St. Albert may be an upper-middle class city, but we’re not stupid. Yet our retail gas outlets continue their pillage by preying on the unsuspecting or gullible public with these “rape and pillage” pricing tactics.

I do much of my purchasing in St. Albert to support local retailers, but our local retail gas pirates have crossed the threshold. I’ll be buying elsewhere until these scurrilous dogs mend their ways.
