Lack of election signs is refreshing

letter-sta

The dearth of campaign signs in St. Albert this election, from the more enlightened candidates out there, is refreshing and about time. Who these days votes on name recognition anyway? We know who the candidates are, their names are on the ballot.

It is far more important that voters are informed on candidate positions and integrity by door-knocking and public forums than to have the landscape despoiled by campaign signs that merely list a name and party affiliation.

Pity our conservative candidate could not be a little more progressive and limit his seemingly endless supply of the inane signs that currently litter our streets, many of which are placed inappropriately close to intersections in contravention of City of St. Albert sign regulations.
