Low-income housing shouldn't come at expense of green areas

I live in Akinsdale. I am not opposed to Habitat for Humanity or low-income housing (God knows my adult son who lives in my basement and his fiancé could use this). However I am averse to ad hoc planning that will be detrimental to St. Albert.

Yes we do need low-income housing but not at the cost of green areas. Akinsdale’s population density should not be increased. Low-income housing should be part of St. Albert’s growth strategy and feathered into new developments. If we can distribute low-income housing throughout St. Albert we will be a stronger community.

The current proposal is short sighted and should not proceed.
