Reputation of region known nation-wide

As one who does not call the Edmonton region home when travelling outside to serious business meetings elsewhere, the comments by Chris and Karleena Perry epitomize all the stereotypes that the Edmonton region has in other parts of Canada.

As one who does not call the Edmonton region home when travelling outside to serious business meetings elsewhere, the comments by Chris and Karleena Perry epitomize all the stereotypes that the Edmonton region has in other parts of Canada.

Edmonton is known as a clique-ish little town where who you know and not what you know is far more important in determining financial success as well as a membership in the Royal Glenora Club. Edmonton is also known as a working class town with few amenities other than a river valley that goes nowhere except to North Battleford.

The Perrys should also reflect on the fact that to have made it in Edmonton often infers having been either a crook or belonging to some gang that deals in drugs to those in living in other parts of Canada. All the stereotypes and attitudes that Edmontonians are known for frankly are all contained within the letter and they should at least be congratulated for stating the obvious and reinforcing all that everyone else in Canada has come to believe about the Edmonton region and its population of hardworking blue collar labourers.
