I read with dismay the front page article on parcel theft in the Dec. 21 Gazette. I am sorry for Scott Hagen and others who have had parcels stolen from their front porches; we all should be able to leave our belongings outside on our property without fear of loss.
I would like to add another item to the RCMP’s suggestions to thwart mail thieves – buy your goods in person from local retailers. Not only will shopping from stores in St. Albert and the Edmonton area take away opportunity for mail theft, you will also be supporting local businesses and helping ensure jobs for Albertans.
