Kulaks! Those tight-fisted money hoarders. Why stop at admiring Marx, Doris? (St. Albert Gazette, Your Views, April 6). He was only a theorist. Surely we should follow Stalin’s lead, the practical person that he was, now there’s a man who knew how to save us from the oppression and put theory into action. We poor sheeple need freedom fighters like Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot – true disciples of Marx.
In all seriousness, Doris Wrench Eisler and her ilk make me think the world is taking crazy pills. Championing the most murderous ideology our history has ever known. She pretends unfettered capitalism is the real capitalism while utopian socialism is the real socialism, except we know from history that socialism has led to mass famine, low production and widespread poverty. Never mind history, this time it will work.
Wrench Eisler fancies herself a Bolshevik. But when she gets her wish of a Socialist state, she’ll be sadly surprised to find she is, like the rest of us in the ivory tower, a kulak.
