Someone knows who broke car window

On Thursday March 4, I awoke to my doorbell ringing and the sight of my neighbour with her hand over her mouth and brows furrowed, informing me that my vehicle had been vandalized. She shook her head at the sight of my broken back window.

On Thursday March 4, I awoke to my doorbell ringing and the sight of my neighbour with her hand over her mouth and brows furrowed, informing me that my vehicle had been vandalized. She shook her head at the sight of my broken back window. This property crime had affected her belief in our community as much as it affected mine.

So my day had changed from heading out to appointments and trying to earn a living to calling the RCMP, contacting my insurance company and finding a company that could fix my shattered window.

My mood had changed as well. I felt personally violated by this vandal. That is why I am reaching out to the people of Akinsdale.

If you have, let’s say a son, aged 12 to 22 who was out late on Wednesday night, you know, visiting friends, doing volunteer work or maybe picking up trash around the 7-Eleven — whatever young lads do after midnight on a school/workday — if you would be kind enough to look him in the eye and ask him if he knows anything about a busted-out window, that would be great.

These petty crimes are usually done in groups to impress one another. Somebody's little "Johnny" knows who is responsible. As a parent of a little "Johnny," I can only hope you can show the moral leadership and integrity to do the right thing and help out a neighbour.

If you could please inform the RCMP with any information, quoting file 2010-229116, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would do the same for you, my neighbour, but I truly hope I don't have to because that would mean you had to go through a day like I had to, March 4. Nobody needs that.
