Special thanks for extra effort

My wife and I were driving home the other night from shopping in west Edmonton when we decided to stop at the local Cob’s Breads.

Upon leaving from the Safeway exit we noticed a loud thumping sound from the vehicle. We promptly pulled over to notice a large bolt penetrating into the tire. Now a flat tire under any circumstance would not be such a big deal but we had our brand new baby girl in the van with us and the vehicle was also new.

To top off the frustration it was late and cold and we were not alone. Another gentleman had pulled over ahead of us with the same concern. Our tire was not completely flat, but his was. We called a friend who lived nearby to see if he could give us a hand and he promptly came with some additional tools of the trade so that we would not have to struggle getting the tire off in the cold. Upon inspection he directed us to the local Goodyear and followed us to ensure we made it there OK.

Upon arriving at the Goodyear a mechanic outside of the store noticed our problem and quickly offered to help. We went in and talked to owner Todd Lesenko and he informed us that the store was closed and the staff were heading off to a Christmas party.

Despite those circumstances, he still offered to help. He quickly took the vehicle in, repaired the tire and sent us on our way free of charge with a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you to my friend who came to help us in our time of need and to Lesenko and his staff for the generous help and overwhelming Christmas spirit. A Merry Christmas to you and yours and a Happy New Year.
