Why do we bother with 10-year planning in this city?

I do not know the cost of this exercise but if council decides to cut – imagine the hours that went into the preparation by staff, I am sure it was more than $15 an hour!

Further the scrapping of a new pool when – after an expensive plebiscite process – the people of this city had made this a top priority baffles any logic. Did we ask for another fancy water park – no, just another pool for swimming and teaching!

Surely with some of the builders in this city we could get help from a sponsor. No, it is clear that many members of council have no interest in swimming or water exercise. These are the safest all year-round activities for all the population, young and old.

Perhaps the only consolation is that after four years the citizens of St Albert can do some cutting of their own at the ballot box!
