Thank you to the Kindness Club kids

I wanted to thank the kids of the Kindness Club of St. Albert. I don’t know these children, but they left a really nice, homemade card in my mailbox on Friday, Feb. 8. The card was signed by the Kindness Club and wished me “a GRATE day.

I wanted to thank the kids of the Kindness Club of St. Albert.

I don’t know these children, but they left a really nice, homemade card in my mailbox on Friday, Feb. 8. The card was signed by the Kindness Club and wished me “a GRATE day.”

It was hand-printed in pretty purple crayon and had the most beautiful stickers. Not just any stickers, but the good ones that young kids cherish! The zebra had sparkles on it, the flowers and ladybugs were the nice foam ones that pop out of the page, and the two heart ones were felt. Imagine they wanted to use them to give to strangers!

Even though this was more than two weeks ago, I remember the day. It was cold outside and my dog barked at the window and I went to see what she was barking at.

I saw a mom and child walking down my street and thought they must be cold – it was -20 something Celsius and the wind was blowing. It was hours later that I found the note in my mailbox. I figure it could only be from them.

My thank you is not only for the children who created this club but for the parents who supported them. Not only with buying the stickers but also going out in the cold to help deliver them. With support like this, these kids have a better chance of growing up to be amazing adults.

While we hear so much negative in the world, I wanted to share this story of goodness.

A little note came with the card hoping that they “brightened my day.” I wanted to let you know it did.

So I don’t know who you are, but hopefully someone who does know you reads this letter and lets you know I was thankful for you!
