With the present Alberta government so dependent on the fluctuations in the price of gas/oil and its impact on the general coffers on which we as citizens depend for our necessary services such as roads, hospitals and health care, educational program

The City of St. Albert needs to start taking initiative to implement bike lanes throughout the roadways of our community.

It is a mystery to me — and it should be a mystery to everybody in St.

According to last week’s local newspapers, the standing committee on finance, consisting of St. Albert councillors, unanimously endorsed a new waste collection system that would reduce pick-up to occur every 14 days instead of weekly.

At the bottom of Levasseur Road, at the crossing of that new LeClair Way/Riel Drive they’ve managed to come up with a real joke.

With all due respect to Gloria Krenbrenk and others who cruise the sidewalks of this region on your bikes, you’re part of the problem. I respect and understand the need at times to ride on sidewalks for safety.

On Canada Day next week, it would be great if we could encourage everyone who attends the festivities at Lions Park to wear red.
