Alberta and Saskatchewan RCMP investigating thefts using vehicles to smash into stores

Armed and dangerous suspects are stealing ATMs, liquor and cigarettes. They opened fire when confronted, say police.

Eastern Alberta RCMP General Investigation Service is getting assistance from the North Battleford RCMP General Investigation Services in an investigation into a string of robberies at gas stations between Dec. 30, 2023, and Jan. 4, 2024.

Alberta RCMP say they believe that the robberies are connected. Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, and Two Hills, Alta., as well as Turtleford, Sask., RCMP, received complaints of robberies and thefts at local gas stations. The thefts occurred in the towns of Lamont, Mundare, Two Hills, and Paradise Hill.

“Due to the similarity of the complaints, it is believed that these occurrences are connected,” said Cst. Kelsey Davidge from Alberta RCMP Media Relations in a press release.

“In most cases, the suspects drove a vehicle into the building, causing major damages. The suspects then proceeded to steal various items, including ATMs, liquor and cigarettes. In one instance, it is believed shots were fired when confronted by a complainant.”

RCMP obtained video of the suspects and released still photos. They say that one suspect has a cast on their left foot.

The vehicle they are driving is a white, single cab pickup truck with a tow bed and integrated ditch.

Alberta and Saskatchewan RCMP are seeking public assistance to identify and gain more footage of the suspects and the vehicles used.

These suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous and the public is asked not to approach them. If anyone has any information regarding the suspects or their location, please contact your local RCMP detachment or police service.
