STARS airlifts man in life-threatening condition after Gleniffer Lake-area crash

INNISFAIL - A 71-year-old man was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance in life-threatening condition, following a motorcycle crash Sunday south of Gleniffer Lake. 

A STARS Air Ambulance crew was dispatched to the scene just south of the lake at about 1 p.m. Gleniffer Lake is about 24 kilometres west of Innisfail. 

“The patient was in life-threatening condition at the time of transport,” STARS Air Ambulance communications officer Blake Robert wrote in an email. 

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved, Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Ian Ihme told the Albertan

“It seems like the person had some sort of medical distress,” he said during an interview. 

The man, a Calgary resident, was airlifted to Foothills Medical Centre.
