Good Neighbour Open Mic Night, Canadian Kerala Cultural Association of Alberta, and comedian Dara ÓBriain's Voice of Reason Tour offer summer diversity

It used to be that Edmonton dubbed itself The Festival City and St. Albertans rushed to check out its events. But the pandemic forced us to rethink our choices and in the past two years, our city's entertainment organizers have broadened their scope.

The next week presents a diverse lineup of vibrant entertaining artists from around the world.

Good Neighbour Night

The Arden Theatre’s Plaza Series's big strength is it boasts some of the best singer-songwriters in the province. Whether it’s seasoned musicians or emerging, raw talent, the series always creates a great vibe.

As summer's end nears, visitors can find some of the best and brightest emerging singer-songwriters through Good Neighbour Open Mic Night on Thursday, Aug. 25.

Hosted by Amplify, it is a celebration of 10 young singer-songwriters honing their craft. Performers include Nick Lumley, Trey Maruyama, Tommy Schaaf, Asher Halinda, Ayla Chin, Darragh McManus, Jaimi Rempel, and Jake Alexander Souch. In addition, Ange Caroline and Amy Polczer are the evening's emcees and will play a 20-minute set.
