The number 25 is big in Jesse Cook’s life – at least how it pertains to Edmonton. The Tempest 25 Tour marks the multi-award-winning guitarist, composer and producer’s 25 years of music.
The 25-stop Canadian tour starts March 20, 2020, at Nanaimo’s Port Theatre and finishes June 29 as part of a special five-night engagement at Montreal’s Théâtre Nouveau Monde.
Coincidentally, Cook stops at Edmonton’s Winspear Centre on March 25.
The Tempest 25 Tour, a nod to the Juno Award winner’s 1995 Tempest debut, serves as a milestone for a guy who never planned on releasing an album.
In a media release, the nuevo flamenco recording artist stated, “If you had asked me at age 22, I would have said I would never, never make music for the public,” Cook laughed. “I would have told you the public is much too fickle ... They may love you one minute and forget you the next.”
“Well ... It turns out I did the thing I said I’d never do, and somehow it’s worked out.”
