LETTER: Kenney's logic for rushing to drop mandates is flawed

'Albertans are the least vaccinated of all the provinces in Canada. Do we have even 50 per cent of Albertans with the booster shot?'

Jason Kenney is the premier of Alberta, and he has the right to decide on mandates for Alberta. Albertans have the right to question the wisdom of his decisions.

What bothers me is that he uses England, Wales, Scotland, and other countries as examples for doing so. England, Wales, and Scotland have over 70 per cent who have obtained the booster or the third shot for COVID-19 and are pushing for more people to obtain the booster COVID-19 shot. Albertans are the least vaccinated of all the provinces in Canada. Do we have even 50 per cent of Albertans with the booster shot?

Why is Jason Kenney in such a rush to drop all mandates and making them earlier than initially proposed? It begs the question: Did he make a deal with the truck convoy at the Coutts border that cost hard-working Albertans millions of dollars? Or is he trying to please the far right of his party to remain leader of the United Conservative Party?
