LETTER: So much gratitude for help given to victims of Citadel fire

"Thank you for being there in the middle of the night for our Mum when all around her the world was burning."
letter-sta

To the anonymous couple outside the Citadel senior-care complex on Thursday: Thank you for being there in the middle of the night for our Mum when all around her the world was burning. She has Alzheimer's and she was bewildered. You left the safety of your home to sit with her while chaos reigned. She was anxious. You rode the bus with her and stayed with her until she was safely delivered into the hands of new caregivers.

To the staff at the Citadel: Thank you. You were already exhausted by the pandemic, yet now you are offering care to our loved ones across several facilities – keeping them safe and the families informed.

To the people of Edmonton and St. Albert who donated time, goods, and funds to help: Thank you. Words cannot convey the depths of our gratitude, but these words are from our hearts.

Charlene Porsild and family, Helena, Montana
