LETTER: Why not a referendum?

Taxpayers are the ones who have to pay the price for the Municipal Energy Corporation and solar-farm project.

Thomas Sowell, a distinguished United States economist stated: It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for getting it wrong.

As we, the taxpayers, have to pay the price for the Municipal Energy Corporation and the solar-farm project, including the up to $33.75-million bylaw, it seems logical that we, the taxpayers, should make the decision in the form of a referendum.

We did have a referendum for Servus Place.
