Smith embarrassing Alberta on global stage

As if Premier Danielle Smith hasn’t wasted enough of our tax dollars on her ridiculous ad campaign against the federal government I now see that she is about to fly over to Dubai to attend the COP28 conference. By what right does she have to waste taxpayer money to attend a conference that she doesn’t even support, never mind believe in? On numerous occasions she has called out and denigrated scientists, climatologists and environmental agencies, discarding their findings as being ‘untruths’ and now suddenly she feels it necessary to attend this climate conference.
Not enough that she has to make us the laughing stock nationally but now she wants to do so on the global stage? I don’t know how many ways I can say this but she does not represent just her party and her views and I am vehemently opposed to her spouting her political vitriol as if we Albertans all think like she does.
I am and always will be Canadian first and then an Albertan but more and more I hesitate to even tell people where I live as the embarrassment is real. I can only hope that perhaps she and her political cronies (I’m looking at you Preston Manning and your ridiculous COVID report) will like it so much wheeling and dealing with the oil consortiums that they will decide to stay there.
