In an unusual move, St. Albert's Arden Theatre unveiled one of its most popular performers for the 2024-25 season. Traditionally, the new season is kept under wraps until it’s released as a package.
However, the popular Hawksley Workman is an exception. The award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist returns to the Arden Theatre on Oct. 26 after a two-year break from his last sold-out show.
A prolific recording artist, the Juno Award recipient has released 11 full-length albums mixing a cocktail of cabaret, pop-rock and adult alternative music.
Starting Oct. 21 in Winnipeg, the energetic and imaginative singer has booked a 16-stop tour across Western Canada four provinces. Workman will perform a few new songs as well as charts from his entire album catalogue.
The minimal setup will consist of Workman on guitar and vocals and Mr. Lonely (Todd Lumley) playing piano and keyboard. As long-time friends and musicians, this setup allows plenty of opportunities for face-to-face anecdotes and snappy jokes.
