I am a young adult neutered male golden retriever Irish wolfhound mix. I am a tall dog and would not look out of place in a medieval castle. My coat is wiry and I am the colour of a golden retriever with golden retriever ears and tail.

My temperament is wonderful. I am a gentle, sensitive boy who is looking for a new home where I can live as an integral part of my new family. I am housetrained and very good in a crate. I like to sleep in my crate at night. I get along just fine with other dogs, big and small. The same cannot be said about cats as I tend to view them as furry beings to be chased. So a home without cats is what I need.

I pull a little on the leash but am getting better and with a few corrections I walk just fine. I love to run and play and my recall off-leash is excellent. I am very strong — I weigh 72 pounds and stand 26 inches at the shoulder. I love people and am very biddable. I listen well and just want to please.

If you are looking for a large gentle dog to join your home and you don’t have cats, please go online to http://nasap.ca and click on the “adopt me” link underneath my picture. Or you can call the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP) at 780-922-0250 and leave a voicemail. My foster Mom will be happy to tell you all about me and arrange a visit if appropriate. So here’s hoping I might be in my new home soon. Bye for now.

I’m about one year old with a short, black coat. I came to NASAP a few months ago through the Black Gold Pound with my four beautiful kittens. My daughters are Asiah, India and Vada and my son’s name is Checkers, who recently found his forever home. My other sweet eight-month-old kittens are still looking for their forever homes. They’ll be the best family members ever.

As for me, I’m a very sweet and loving mother cat and I’m ever so gentle with people. I am quiet and well behaved in my foster home. Honestly, I’m just so relieved to have a break and not have to be responsible for everything. There is plentiful food and water here and we have warm beds to sleep in too. What a nice change from living outdoors and fending for myself and so many young ones.

I have a funny tail as it is only about half the normal length and twisted at the tip. Two of my kittens also share the same trait. My biggest challenge now is to find a loving family. For some reason that I don’t completely understand, my coat colour makes me less likely to be chosen out of the crowd of colourful cats. Maybe I’ll be lucky and someone will appreciate all the extra love and attention that I have to give.

Broomhilda’s NASAP adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, deworming, microchip, tattoo, FIV/feline leukemia testing and a post adoption health checkup.
