Adopt A Pet

My name is Melba and I am an 11-week-old puppy. I am a German shepherd-Labrador retriever mix and I will be a large dog when I’m grown up. I was abandoned in the countryside and ended up at the pound.

My name is Melba and I am an 11-week-old puppy. I am a German shepherd-Labrador retriever mix and I will be a large dog when I’m grown up. I was abandoned in the countryside and ended up at the pound. Now I’m getting on great in my foster home, enjoying life with the other dogs and learning all about housetraining and being good in a crate.

I am an easy puppy to have around. I don’t do the puppy biting thing with sharp teeth so I would be a good choice for a family with younger children. I enjoy playing with my toys but so far have not shown any other destructive tendencies. I am looking for a new home where I will get plenty of love and all the necessary training that every puppy needs. I am a smart little girl and I will learn the rules if you are consistent and patient with me. I would do great at puppy training classes and am looking forward to those very much – I know I will shine and make my new mom proud.

So please, if you are looking for a new puppy to join your family and you have the time to train and exercise me as I grow up, give me a chance and come meet me.

Please go online to nasap.ca and click on the “adopt me” link underneath my picture. Or you can call the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP) at 780-922-0250 and leave a voicemail.

I’m Smokey and I’m a big, huggable guy. I’m two to three years old with a shiny grey and white long-haired coat and a cute white teardrop on my face. I was terribly matted when I came into NASAP’s care, but after a thorough lion shave, I was good as new.

I’m a very happy, easygoing guy who is very affectionate. I also love to explore my surroundings as I’m quite an inquisitive guy.

I underwent treatment for a urinary tract infection a while ago. I now I have a clean bill of health but I will need to be on a urinary tract health diet for the long term — this kind of food is available at all vet clinics. So if you’d like a lovable, huggable guy, please consider me to be your forever pet.

Smokey’s NASAP adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, deworming, microchip, tattoo, FIV/feline leukemia testing and a post adoption health checkup.
