Autopsy completed in suspicious death, man identified

The man found dead in St. Albert on Monday night has been identified as Trevor Keith Deleeuw, 25.

The man found dead in St. Albert on Monday night has been identified as Trevor Keith Deleeuw, 25.

Deleeuw’s lifeless body was discovered in the parking lot of Nevada Place around 9 p.m. on Monday, April 6. Nevada Place is a newer apartment complex on Giroux Road, in the North Ridge neighbourhood.

An earlier investigation determined that Deleeuw did not die in the Nevada Place parking lot. Edmonton police believe that he was dropped off after getting shot in a parking lot on the corner of 215 Street (Winterburn Road) and 115 Avenue around 9 p.m.. By car, it’s about 11 minutes to drive from Winterburn Road to Nevada Place.

An autopsy on Wednesday morning found that Deleeuw died from gunshot wounds. His death is the sixth homicide in Edmonton in 2015. Homicide detectives continue to investigate.
