St. Albert will soon be home to a new Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery. The Calgary-based business is opening a franchise in St. Albert’s The Shops at Boudreau.

St. Albert will soon be home to a new Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery. The Calgary-based business is opening a franchise in St. Albert’s The Shops at Boudreau.

Good Earth now owns more than 40 cafes across western Canada, serving coffee and fresh sandwiches, salads and soups.

Skybox Grill, a fully-licensed family restaurant located inside St. Albert’s Servus Credit Union Place, is expanding to a second location.

The restaurant will soon house a food and concession stand, Skybox Express, at the Akinsdale/Kinex arenas at 66 Hebert Road.

The family restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, including burgers and steaks, and wraps and stir-fries.

The Grill could not be contacted for information about an opening date for the food and concession stand.

The St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce will hold its first luncheon after the summer break on Sept. 10.

This month’s keynote speaker is Rob Chiasson, owner and operator of the local McDonald’s restaurants.

Chiasson will be speaking on the temporary foreign worker legislation and “its effect on business and our community.”

The chamber luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kinsmen Club of St. Albert at 47 Riel Drive, followed by a workshop by Corey Poirier on communication with different personality types.

Fees to the luncheon are $35 for members ($40 for non-members) and $55 for members who also wish to attend the workshop ($65 for non-members).
