A new Canada Post outlet opened Monday at #10, 19 Bellerose Drive.
The outlet is located inside London Drugs and will provide regular mail and parcel delivery services, said Phil Legault, Canada Post manager of media relations.
“We are always examining our network and always looking to expand our network to provide more access points to Canadians,” he said.
Legault said Canadians are using the postal service differently now than in previous years. While there is less use of letter mail, Canada Post is seeing a rise in parcels and parcel delivery, he said.
This creates the need for more outlets for easy pick-up, he said.
New offices are also located close to or inside a store, such as the London Drugs. This allows people to combine their shopping with picking up their mail, Legault said.
“We are just looking at making it much more convenient for people to use our service,” he said.
Residents in the area of 19 Bellerose Drive can likely expect their parcels to be delivered to the new location now, he added.
The new postal outlet offers parcel pickup, shipping, stamps, post office boxes, money orders, government forms including Canada Revenue Agency and Passport Canada paperwork, as well as debit and credit card payments.
Services will be available seven days a week – Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m..
Luxurious Beds and Linens, located at #120, 71 Corriveau Ave., will celebrate its grand opening this weekend.
The new store sells a variety of standard bed frames, as well as adjustable beds, mattresses, linens, duvets, blankets and pillows.
Owner Brenda Elder said she and her husband Dave have owned the business since April 2013 and started out with a showroom in Riel Business Park.
After attending a successful Edmonton Home and Garden show in March 2014, they decided to expand and open a full-on retail store, she said.
“We have several (products) in our store and then we have several we can easily order in,” she said. “We have a wide variety for people to look at.”
Elder said it’s important to them that their family business provides customers with quality products, including bamboo, organic and alpaca sheets and linens, as well as great customer service.
The latter includes a fast delivery service and 10 years of experience in the industry, she said.
“We are selling things that we love, that we use, and that we are very comfortable selling to other people,” she said.
Luxurious Beds and Linens is open seven days a week – Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Kyle Gronning promises he won’t sell any see-through sportswear.
But the owner of Believe Fit, a new sportswear and supplement store opening soon in St. Albert, is looking to attract a similar demographic as competitor Lululemon – women aged 18 to 40, he said.
“It’s a very female focused store,” he said. “It’s all fashionable, functional wear.”
Believe Fit is expected to open in the next two weeks. The story carries a wide variety of female-only workout clothes from Australian clothing designer Lorna Jane.
The brand is about 10 years older than Lululemon but only moved into the North American market in recent years, said Gronning, who owns all of the Canadian stores – five corporate stores and two franchises.
He’s now decided to open a store in St. Albert because his first one, located in Sherwood Park, continues to attract customers from this city, he said.
“People are willing to drive through their own cities and across Edmonton and Sherwood Park to buy this product,” he said. “So we just decided to bring this product to them.”
Gronning said the brand releases about 15 to 20 new styles per week to be sold at his store. Believe Fit will also offer free workout classes “to get people up and out and moving again.”
