Drivers will have one more construction project to contend with starting Monday when Campbell Road is reduced to one lane in each direction.

Starting at Boudreau Road and running all the way to St. Albert Trail, the work won’t be completed until Aug. 31.

Mark Basher, deputy project manager for the Anthony Henday with Flatiron Graham Parsons, said the closure is necessary because the company is moving Campbell Road as part of the project.

“We are rebuilding it almost right down to the St. Albert Trail intersection,” he said. “You won’t know where the old road was once the new road is in service.”

Basher said the company does not expect to have to close the road completely at any point during construction and it also isn’t planning to have heavy equipment crossing the road.

He said, depending on the needs of the construction season, traffic lanes will alternate between the west and east sides of Campbell.

The company is suggesting drivers can detour around the area entirely using St. Albert Trail, Hebert Road and Boudreau Road.

He said the Aug. 31 date is the company’s current target, adding weather and other factors could move that date.

“A wet spring may impact us. A dry one might give us a chance to jump ahead of our schedule.”
