Police are looking for witnesses of a fight outside a local bar that left one man with a broken leg.

The fight outside Friday’s Lounge in the Campbell Business Park took place between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7.

The man who was left with a broken leg was actually playing the role of peacemaker.

While sitting inside he noticed a friend of his involved in a skirmish outside and went out to intervene.

After successfully convincing the friend to back away and putting him into a truck out of the way, two men from the original fight attacked him, leaving him with the broken leg.

The police are now looking for witnesses to come forward to help with the case.

Cpl. Laurel Kading with the St. Albert RCMP said police believe there were other people in the parking lot that saw the altercation and might be able to help police figure out what happened.

“We tend to believe that there are witnesses to this.”

Kading said officers only have vague descriptions of the two men, one being a Caucasian male in his 20s and the other a man with black hair and a darker complexion.

Right now police do not have a complete picture of exactly what happened and would like to hear from the two men involved as well, she added.

“We are looking to hear the side of the two suspects as well, because we only have one side of the story.”

Anyone with any information can contact the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-770 or if they wish to remain anonymous they can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
